The post where she shills someone else's work

I, like many of my compatriots, went to see "Kill Bill, Volume 1" this weekend. I wasn't expecting anything in particular, but I really enjoyed the movie. Going in, the only thing I knew about it was that it was quite possibly the bloodiest American movie ever made (at least, according to the Voice). The thing is, I've never seen any Tarantino movie, so I couldn't even look to "Pulp Fiction" or "Jackie Brown" for clues (I might get around to seeing either or both of those films at some point in my life).

I laughed more than I thought I would, and I salute Tarantino on his ability to show violence as both cartoonish and utterly serious, often within the same scene. I would rate this movie as quite enjoyable. Much less enjoyable was the overwhelming odor of pot that emanated from the loser sitting next to me. And the ringing of his hopelessly outdated cellular phone. I just wanted to hurt him. That might have been the result of watching all of that onscreen violence...

Anyway, partly out of concern for those of you who haven't yet seen the movie but intend to, but mostly due to laziness, I will elaborate no further up "Kill Bill." But I do suggest that if you find yourself with an extra two hours and 7 bucks (10 in the city), you see this movie.
